Abstinence Doesn't Mean Deliverance Part 3
The Beginning Stages Of The Healing Process
Stacey Lunsford
Key Verse - Galatians 5:18-21
What brought you to that special place in God where you wanted to leave your past behind you and press towards the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus?
I must be honest with my response to this question because it's in telling AND accepting the truth, that I was able to approach the beginning stages of my healing. It was an unexpected detour in my life that God used to remove the scales from eyes, that was blinding me, preventing me from moving forward and beyond, pressing towards the mark for the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus.
My Detour In Life...
In my loneliness and my inability to wait on the Lord, taking matters into my own hands... I moved out of God's perfect will for my life.
Taking an unauthorized detour that led me into the wilderness... mentally unprepared and emotionally unstable, gullible and vulnerable, I took it all in...lies on top of lies!
The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords. (Psalm 55:21)
His smoother than butter words...talked it's way straight into the depths of my lonely being, filling me with a false sense of security but in all actuality, opened the door for the spirit of perversion (Isaiah 19:14) The LORD hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
Perverse is showing a deliberate and obstinate desire to behave in a way that is unreasonable or unacceptable, often in spite of the consequences:
Perversion is the alteration of something from its original course, meaning, or state to a distortion or corruption of what was first intended:
The Word of God gives clear instructions that sex is for married couples, Genesis 2:24, Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
For unmarried single people the word of God says, 1 Corinthians 7:32, But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
1 Corinthians 6:18, Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
His words appeared to be softer than oil but they were drawn swords; long-bladed weapons that are sharp on one or both edges and sometimes slightly curved. It is used for cutting and thrusting...and cut me he did, as he exposed my nakedness.
"With the anointing that is on your life," he said, "why are you hanging out in the pig pen?" You see the devil, he knew who I was and he was mocking me...
"Why is it that every time I try to get out of the pig pen, you knock me back down again?," I said.
There was no faithfulness in his mouth and his inward part was very wicked: his throat was an open grave and he flattered me with his tongue. (Psalm 5:9)
"Because I hate you", he said! "You are a powerful woman of God and using the one whose words were smoother than butter, I deceived you into perverting God's word that instructed you to flee fornication (HAHAHA) all in my attempt to make you abort your mission but I couldn't...."
"Why is that?," I said with authority! When I didn't get an answer, I answered for him....
Because of the BLOOD OF JESUS your assignment against me was an evil plot that failed! You see this detour in life that I took, yes, I'll agree, you did set me up BUT GLORY HALLELUJAH...
MY SETBACK WAS A SETUP FOR MY COMEBACK!
